Layla

LAYLA IS ADOPTED! If one were to draw a picture of “delight” is would look very much like our Layla. She’s ten years old and on the small side, but despite some hard knocks, her hummingbird tail never stops expressing her joy. Layla was picked up as a stray and wound up in a shelter.  We took her into rescue, where she and her foster mom bonded immediately (thank you Serenity for fostering, and Marlene for providing vacation backup).  The shelter staff had noticed some lumps and bumps, so we had them tested. Some turned out to be mast cell […]

Example- Referral Posting – City, CA

“Example” is a highly energetic 4 year old male GSP looking for a new home. At just 40 pounds he’s on the small side, which is good since he has a lot of energy. Example is very sweet and gets a long with other dogs and is great with children, he also gets along well with cats.  He is crate trained and used to sleeping in his crate at night, but of course he would like some snuggle time with his people too. Example loves to play in the water and also loves to play ball and run. This young boy needs a family who […]

Beauford

Beauford came to us an anxious dog, in urgent need of a new home (thanks Kim for volunteering to foster him). He soon overcame his shyness and emerged as a playful, goofy boy, with his tongue always hanging out the side of his mouth and his whole body wagging. Young Beau seemed happiest wiggling up to guys loading hay onto trucks. Lucky for him, he snagged just the right bachelor dad—a man looking for a best pal who could ride around with him during the day doing ranch work, and then go meet friends after work at a local dog-friendly […]

Levy

Levy is adopted!! It’s hard to imagine why anyone would surrender lovely Levy. He behaved like a perfect gentleman in his foster home (thanks Cheryl and Chris), and he passed his behavioral evaluation with flying colors. Now he is settled into a new home, with a Weimaraner brother for a playmate. Handsome Levy is going to have lots of cuddles, truck rides, and ball fetching in his future–and he might even get to go hunting once in a while.   Adopted August, 2017

Samantha

Two-year old Samantha came into rescue as a stray, with very little training and few social skills. Worse yet, she tested positive for heartworm. That meant months of arduous treatment and mandated rest—not the best start in life for a young, spirited GSP. She endured this with the loving help of her first two foster families (thanks Doug & Janelle, and Sally), but then Samantha was determined to find exactly the right place to begin the rest of her life. She tried out a few new situations before she decided that her last foster mom was Just Right! Finally, she […]
