Such a sweet old boy!

When we saw this sweet old guy stuck in the shelter, we knew he needed our help. Now Cyrus has found the good life in foster care! At least partially blind, it’s amazing how well he navigates around his surroundings. He is a big love bug and seeks out attention wherever he can find it. He’s the type of dog that fits in immediately wherever he is. After he explores, he settles down for a nice nap! Until the food comes out, that is. As soon as he smells something good, he’s raring to go. He’ll even do a little hop for you as he waits for a treat! As an older chap, he’s looking for some daily TLC and all the comfort he can find. Not much to ask! He’ll make any home a happier one with his cheerful spirit. Maybe you need some Cyrus in your life?

Could he be more handsome?

If you’re in the market for a cuddling companion, Alphie may just be your guy! He can’t get enough of snuggling up to his foster mom (notice how a lot of the pictures are of him on the couch?) With a signature brown dot on his head and a very long neck, this handsome 6-8 year-old has a very regal look to him. He’s definitely one-of-a-kind! To top off his good looks, Alphie is also very well-behaved wherever he is – in the car, at home, even in the bathtub! Like you would expect from a GSP, he’s very smart. He already knows sit and stay and picked up how to use the dog door on the first night in his foster home. Convinced he’s the one for you yet?

Gunner would love to spend the summer with you!

Gunner is one bouncy boy! At a very playful 5 years-old, this boy has got spunk to spare. Now that temperatures have risen, his favorite thing to do is take a little dip in the kiddie pool at his foster home. He knows how to keep himself cool! He loves playing with other dogs and would be very happy to share his forever home with a canine friend. Did we mention he’s already housetrained and knows several commands like sit, down, and shake? Off he went to UC Davis for new surgery to repair the damage! Fortunately they were able to clean things up and he did not lose the leg. Here he is finally back home, relaxing with his cone and some Pointer Ridge Point Blanc wine. Oh, wait, sorry Rally, the wine is for your foster mom!

Cooper is a charmer!

Someone forgot to tell Cooper he only has 3 legs! When we rescued this handsome 2.5 year-old, he had a shattered back leg and dislocated hip. Due to the degree of injury, his leg had to be amputated, but it didn’t faze him for a minute! Not even three days after the surgery, he was running around like a pro. He is a very good-natured sweet boy who quickly charms everyone he meets – the vet staff were tempted to hide him from us when we arrived to transport him to his foster home so they could keep him! Cooper is a special boy who is looking for a special home. He can’t wait to meet his new family!

If Barley could talk, she would tell you about how far she’s come since that first day in her foster home. Once shy and withdrawn, she’s now bursting with energy and is a happy, playful girl around the people she’s learned to trust. Sophie will melt your heart with her big brown eyes and a happy wag of her stubby tail. This 10 year-old beauty is a model dog in her foster home. She is house-trained and crate-trained and is learning to be a polite leash-walker. Sophie is very well-mannered with the cat in her foster home and loves spending time with her foster sister, also a GSP. She has also lived successfully in the past with a small dog. Sophie loves to being at the side of the humans in her foster home and due to her all-around sweet and easy personality, we will consider placing her in a home with younger children. Her health has received quite the tune-up over the past few months – she had a few lumps removed, received treatment for an eye issue which is now entirely healed and also had a dental cleaning.
