Leia

At about five years of age, Leia showed up as a stray in a shelter. We don’t know much about her life before she came into rescue, except that she had had puppies. She landed at her foster home with a regal air, yet she was afraid to enter the house. It took her a few weeks to warm up to the new humans and their bevy of male GSPs. Initially very cautious and a bit bossy, she soon relaxed and became quite loving. She learned to accept petting, to cherish naps in a wingback chair, and to enjoy hunting critters in the yard. Although Leia had a number of interested adopters, it wasn’t until a couple from the northernmost part of California came along that her eyes lit up. “This is the one!” she seemed to tell us.  And she was right.  It was obvious that the immediate love between Leia and her potential adopters was mutual. Now she is settled in a rural home where there is no end of critters to hunt. Thank you, Carol and Mike, for fostering Leia.
