Sarah – Our Foster Dog

Hi sweet Sarah!

Hi sweet Sarah!

Pretty Sarah! This 1 year-old doll of a dog landed in our lap after she turned up as a stray at the shelter. She is now in a loving foster home where she is proving to be the sweetest little gal (she’s less than 40 lbs!) We think she’s a mix, maybe some Border Collie or even Whippet in there. She’s got a sweet, fun puppy energy. Sarah walks nicely on a leash for the most part, but can be a bit reactive while on leash with other dogs. She loves to have a bit of space to run – her foster mom says she runs like the wind! She also doesn’t mind snoozing through the night in a crate and also for a few hours at a time throughout the day. Her favorite place to snooze is her foster dad’s lap! Sarah is doing well with the three other GSPs in her foster home and she is learning to avoid the dog-savvy indoor cat.

Sarah can be fearful when put in unknown or new situations, so we recommend a rural environment where she can feel safe and comfortable and not need to meet a lot of new people. Her next adult-only home should be savvy with training and willing to put in the work to help her thrive. She is currently on behavioral hold while we continue to work with a trainer.
