Bruno is an adorable 10-month-old male GSP who came to us after his former owner couldn’t provide the expensive veterinary care he needed. He suffered a complex fracture of his rear leg after a ‘crash’ at the dog park. And wow, expensive is right!
The surgery was so complicated that the surgeon thought he might have to amputate at one point. Fortunately, he was able to save Bruno’s leg, and now the long recovery period begins. First, there is the fun of keeping a young GSP calm and contained during the initial healing phase. Then, there’s the extensive rehabilitation phase involving physical therapy and home exercises. Bruno is lucky that his foster home is ready and willing to do whatever is needed to get him back to his bouncy joyous self!
Bruno would love your help with his expenses. His surgery was close to $6,300, there will be follow-up vet visits, and his physical therapy could run anywhere from $800 to $1800 or more, depending on the progress he makes and how many sessions he’ll need. Thank you for any amount you’re able to donate – every dollar helps!
We’ll add more photos and videos as Bruno recovers, be sure to check back to see the latest progress!
