Cooper Ace has a foster home, thank you!
Cooper Ace is a 6-month-old male who arrived at the shelter with an injury to his right rear leg. We’re guessing he may have been hit by a car. The shelter asked us to take him so that his medical needs could be addressed. Now Cooper Ace is safely in a foster home awaiting his surgery appointment – his x-ray exams showed two fractures in the lower leg. The chances of a good recovery with the surgery are excellent, and since he’s so young, we’re moving forward with that plan so that he can have a normal, active, and pain-free life. UPDATE: Cooper Ace had his pre-op appointment and the orthopedic surgeon said that his bones were healing well and he would not need surgery! Whew! He’ll continue with rest, medications, follow-up visits, and then gradual reconditioning.
We don’t yet have an estimate for the cost of the procedure and follow-up care but we know it won’t be cheap. Prior similar surgeries have run in the $5-10K range. Please consider helping Cooper Ace, every dollar helps, and who can resist that face! UPDATE: since he won’t need surgery, we believe the cost of his care will now come to under $2,000. Thank you for helping Cooper Ace!
