Meet Roy! This poor guy has had a string of bad luck. Roy was hit by a car at the end of December, then ended up at the shelter where it was determined that he has a broken hip. After being rescued 3 weeks later, he was taken to the vet and tested positive for Ehrlichia, in addition to having kennel cough, so he needed antibiotics for over a month. Although cleared for surgery, his orthopedic consultation and surgery were on hold for many months because of the pandemic. Finally, in July the specialists began accepting appointments, and in late July he had the necessary surgery to repair his hip. Now he’ll have 6 – 12 weeks of recovery and rehabilitation. Despite all he’s been through, Roy has kept his sunny disposition.
If you’d like to help defray some of the cost of Roy’s veterinary care, he’d love to have you on his team!
Here he is back home right after surgery, resting comfortably and doing well.
