Skippy

Sweet Skippy is new to rescue, with a bit of a sad story that we know will have a happy ending. The sad part? This cute 9-month-old purebred GSP was injured in June (most likely hit by a car), and unfortunately, his owner was unable to afford the surgery needed to repair the leg, and Skippy was surrendered to the shelter. Skippy came to us in August and because the injury was so severe, the leg had to be amputated. The happy ending we’re looking forward to? He’s in a great foster home where he’s finishing his recovery, and he’s already learned how to get around on 3 legs. Since he’s so young, he’ll be able to do everything a 4-legged dog can do! Chances are he won’t even notice that he’s missing a leg.

Skippy runs like the wind. He also loves to play with other dogs and will entertain himself with his toys. Loves to take all the toys out of the toy box. He’s just waiting for someone to teach him the trick of putting them back! If you’re ready to devote time and energy to Skippy’s training and exercise, we’d love to hear from you!

Skippy is now accepting adoption questionnaires – this boy is a real pistol!

Skippy’s expenses to date have totaled over $6,975. Please help him by donating to Skippy’s Medical Fund. We’d love to have your help with his bills, and every dollar makes a big difference. Thank you!
