It’s Jack! This cute, sweet guy is sure to be a fan favorite. Just look at this handsome dude! Jack was a stray to the shelter and estimated to be around 1 year old. He’s playful, sweet, and has lots of energy like any young GSP. He does well with other dogs and is good with kids. Jack will need more training once in his forever home, but is already learning a lot (walks well on a leash, is pretty much house trained, and is learning “sit”)! He loves going on walks and short runs, playing with other dogs, and […]
Tiny Bella’s family had to move to a new place where dogs were not welcome. Her foster family predicted that if someone wanted to adopt “a sweet, young, affectionate girl…small in stature and super cute,” then they would fall in love with Bella. Well, she found a great home and will be living with an active family with a couple of kids and parents able to devote time to her exercise and training needs. Thank you, Anne & Brad, for fostering Bella, and thanks, Adam and Mary Alice, for making this little gem a permanent part of your family–even providing […]
Five-year old Appa has plenty to howl about. He’s moved on to a new life, after being surrendered by his owner. NorCal GSP Rescue addressed his medical issues and anxieties. Appa had escapist tendencies and too much interest in other dogs, but one trainer described him as “quintessential GSP—alert, curious, eager to please, high energy and responsive.” We found him a solid foster home committed to continuing his care and training. They saw his potential to be a great companion, and decided to adopt. Thank you, Matthew and Heather, for fostering and adopting this guy.
Cody may have no eyes, but he’s all GSP in every other way! At 11 years old, he loves to go out in the world and sniff all the smells and run around in places without obstacles. Cody knows “watch out” and slow” to help him navigate. He’s great on leash and only needs a mile or two walk. After that he’s happy to hang out and relax for hours. Cody needs a home without other dogs at this point in his life. He’s lived with other dogs for the past few years, but because he cannot see and interpret […]
Where’s Waldo? He’s chilling at a foster home that turned into his forever home! This photogenic 4-year old is as easy–going as he is handsome. He walks nicely on leash and is an all-around gentleman, though he’s also a bit of a “party animal,” loving nothing more than a room full of people having fun. Noisy kids with whizzing toys don’t trouble him a bit, though fireworks are another story. Waldo came into rescue with a bite mark in his left ear, so he needed some time to heal and to remember that most dogs are good and safe to be […]
Why is Willa grinning? This stunning four-year-old bounced around among several homes, trying them out until she found a perfect fit. She is active and athletic, loves to run like the wind and chase birds at the beach. She adores humans, will follow them around and try to snuggle any time they sit. She loves children, too – but she’s not so sure about sharing her space with other dogs. Willa finally found the home she’s been looking for—folks who will give her the undivided attention and loving she craves. Thanks to all who helped Willa temporarily, and thank you […]
Welcome Sauer! This sweet senior shorthair is the perfect mix. He’s 8 years old, so all that crazy GSP energy has subsided (well, some of it!), but he’s still a loving, happy boy who would love to spend his days hanging out with a family of his very own. His foster home has described him as a “he’s a sweet, high energy guy who needs a lot of love.” If you have love to give, Sauer is ready to be the recipient!
Sofia is so pretty and petite, she may have been used as a breeding dog. She and her happy go lucky partner were picked up as strays and assigned to new foster homes. Sofia landed in a home that adores GSPs and is very experienced in dog care and training—even dogs like her with the energy of a small nuclear reactor. That’s where she’ll stay forever, with loving humans and always another canine pal or two to play with. Thank you, Dana, for fostering and adopting Sofia.
