Dunkan
Dunkan is in urgent need of a foster home in Northern California!
Dunkan was on “the list” at the shelter along with his buddy Breckan. With the shelter euthanizing dogs for lack of space, we had to act quickly to get them to safety. They are currently in boarding and need foster homes asap.
Dunkan is friendly with people and other dogs. We don’t know a whole lot about him yet – that’s where you come in. You’ll be instrumental in help us learn more about him!

Dunkan had an outing for photos and videos and a pup cup! Thanks to our volunteer who took him out from boarding, we have a bit of info about him:
- Personality: Easygoing, incredibly sweet, gentle energy, loves ear scratches and following people around.
- Crate Training: Is learning quickly.
- Potty Training: Fully potty trained.
- Training: Understands “off” (for counter surfing), doesn’t know basics yet, great on leash – doesn’t pull; very timid with putting on the harness.
- Socialization: Timid in new environments (tail tucked, hides behind handler), warms up with time and reassurance, startled by common noises & movements.
- Activity Level: Plays, then settles on his own; enjoys being outside. Chases dragging leash, enjoys toys (thrashing them), uses his nose constantly. Enjoys bully sticks and Kongs. Nips at fingers, toes, ears, even throat; not aggressive, but something to watch around kids. Chews on everything!
- Dog Interactions: Fearful at first, then does well with supervised greetings and play.
- Car Behavior: Rides very well (sleeps), needs help getting in/out, scared of open car door initially.
- Overall: Sweet, loving, wants to be close, able to adjust to new environments, wants to be somebody’s best friend!

Adoption Information
Dogs one to five years old: $425. Your adoption includes a post-adoption training allowance.
Dunkan is in our foster program (currently in boarding) and is looking for a foster home, preferably one that is seriously interested in adoption. You’ll have the support of our foster team while any medical and behavioral needs are addressed, and we pay those expenses. Best of all? You’re first in line to adopt Dunkan!
