If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, 6 1/2 year old GSP who just wants to be by your side, Timber might be your perfect match.

Timber came into my life in September after being surrendered due to a divorce. I planned to help him find a new home, but in the process, I fell completely in love with him. He’s truly one of the sweetest, most loving dogs I’ve ever met. Unfortunately, due to recent health issues and my inability to keep up with his exercise needs, I need to find him the home he deserves — one that can give him the activity and companionship he loves.

🐶 Timber’s Personality

Timber is a classic “Velcro” dog — he loves being close to his person and will follow you from room to room with his tail wagging. He thrives on attention and affection, and he’ll happily lean in for pets, rest his head on your lap, or curl up near you at night. He’s gentle, sensitive, and eager to please — the kind of dog who just wants to make his person happy.

He’s friendly and social with people once he gets to know them. He may give a quick bark when someone’s at the door, but once they’re inside, he warms up quickly. He’s also wonderful in the car — calm, happy, and always ready for an adventure.

🐕 Social Skills

Timber is fantastic with other dogs of all sizes. He’s been to doggy daycare and dog parks regularly and has gotten along beautifully with everyone — from Great Danes to Chihuahuas. If another dog shows aggression, Timber simply retreats rather than reacting, which says a lot about his easygoing nature.

He’s also been around children over age five and done very well with them. He’s gentle and polite, though like most GSPs, he has a lot of enthusiasm, so older kids are a better fit than toddlers.

Timber does not have experience living with cats and would do best in a cat-free home.

🏠 Home Life

Timber is completely house-trained. He’s used to being with me most of the time or attending daycare, so he’s happiest when he has companionship. He’s fine being left alone for a couple of hours but would not do well left home all day.

While not crate trained, he’s been enrolled in basic obedience at Petco and is making steady progress. He’s smart and food-motivated, so continued positive training will be both fun and rewarding for his new family.

🩺 Health & Care

Timber is in excellent health. He’s up to date on all vaccinations (Nobivak, Recombitek, Rabies, parasite screening) and takes monthly NexGard for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He has no chronic medical issues. Timber weighs 66 pounds and is neutered.

I have vet records available for his adopter.

💕 Ideal Home

Timber would love an active, loving home where he can be part of the family’s daily life. He’ll make a wonderful walking, hiking, or running partner, or a loyal companion for someone who works from home or has flexible hours. He’s not a high-maintenance dog — he just wants to be loved, included, and kept close.

He’ll repay that love tenfold with devotion, gentleness, and endless tail wags.

If you’re ready for a loyal best friend who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Timber is ready to meet you.
