Meet Evie, a beautiful 9-year-old female German Shorthaired Pointer looking for an active new home where she can get the exercise and engagement she thrives on. She’s being rehomed because her person is no longer physically able to meet her needs—no fault of Evie’s.
Evie weighs about 45 pounds and is spayed, healthy, and well cared for. She’ll come with vet records, is up to date on vaccinations (2025), on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. She’s house-trained, not an escaper, and knows basic cues, giving her a solid foundation to build on.
True to her breed, Evie is a high-energy dog who will do best with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. She’s the kind of dog who’s happiest with regular exercise, mental stimulation, and a job to do—whether that’s long walks, hikes, runs, training games, or other structured activities. After her needs are met, she settles well and can be left alone in the house for about 3–5 hours without issue. She also does well being alone in the car.
Socially, Evie is a friendly, confident girl. She’s good with other dogs and does well with children. She’s comfortable meeting strangers and handles new situations nicely. Evie is not a match for a home with cats, so a feline-free household is important.
Evie would be a great fit for a GSP-savvy home or an adopter who understands and appreciates the needs of a high-energy sporting dog. She’s not looking for a couch-only lifestyle—she’s looking for a partner who wants to include her in daily life and activities.
