Goose is a handsome male German Shorthaired Pointer just over 2 years old, weighing about 60 lbs, and full of the athleticism and heart the breed is known for. He’s an owner referral dog looking for a new home through no fault of his own, and he has a lot to offer the right family.
Goose is neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations. Vet records are available. He’s in good overall health, with the exception of itchy feet that are well managed with a daily Apoquel. He’s also on heartworm preventative.
In the home, Goose is a solid citizen. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he does well being alone in the house or car. He is not an escape artist and can be trusted in the home with access to the yard. When left alone outside, he may whine or dig a bit—typical behavior for an active, social dog who would rather be with his people or doing something engaging.
Goose is very social with other dogs and genuinely loves their company. He is submissive, friendly with both male and female dogs of all sizes, and especially enjoys being chased during play. He does not do well with cats, so a cat-free home is important.
He is great with people and seems comfortable with strangers, making him a nice fit for an active family or individual who enjoys having a friendly, people-oriented dog around. Goose has a sweet, loving disposition and bonds closely with his humans.
True to his GSP roots, Goose is very active and athletic. He has field and hunt training and would thrive in a home that appreciates an energetic, outdoorsy dog and can provide regular exercise and mental stimulation. Long walks, runs, hikes, training sessions, or dog playtime would all be right up his alley.
Goose has spent long days alone (10–12 hours), and while he handles it, he would likely be even happier in a home where he gets more daily interaction, activity, and companionship. He’s a dog who wants to be included and engaged.
