Britt

Meet Britt, a sweet and spirited 7-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer who is ready to find a home where she can get the time, structure, and activity she needs to truly thrive.

Location: Crows Landing, CA (Central Valley)
Contact: Heather at hmcrow5@gmail.com
Rehoming Fee: $500, will be donated to NorCal GSP Rescue

At about 46 pounds, Britt is a beautiful young dog with all the hallmark traits of her breed—smart, energetic, affectionate, and eager to be part of the family. She has a loving, people-focused personality and genuinely wants to follow directions and do the right thing, making her a wonderful candidate for continued training.

Britt absolutely adores children and has been raised alongside two young kids. She loves playing with them and being included in family time, and her excitement around kids and people is hard to miss. She’s also very friendly with adults and enjoys meeting new people, happily greeting visitors, and soaking up attention.

She already has a nice foundation in training. Britt knows basic cues like sit, stay, come, stand, and heel, and her family has been working with a trainer to help her build good habits. Like many young dogs, she’s still learning—especially when it comes to leash walking. She’s currently working on this with a harness, as she can be strong and sometimes pulls, but she’s making progress with guidance and consistency.

Britt is house-trained, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm prevention, with vet records available. She is a healthy young dog with a bright future ahead.

As a GSP, Britt has a high energy level and a natural hunting instinct. She will need a home that can provide regular physical exercise and mental enrichment. She especially enjoys being active and engaged with her people. It’s important to note that she does have prey drive and has gone after chickens in her current home, so a household without small animals or livestock would be the best fit.

Britt thrives on companionship and inclusion. She truly wants to be part of the family and does best when she’s not left alone for long stretches. Currently, she spends weekdays in the backyard while her family is at work, and without enough interaction or activity, she can become bored and entertain herself by digging or chewing. With more time, structure, and engagement, she will blossom into an incredibly loyal and well-balanced companion.

She has been living with her sister Belle, and while they do enjoy each other’s company, her family has found that raising and training two young, high-energy dogs at the same time—while also caring for small children—is more than they can manage. They are now focused on finding each dog an individual home where they can receive the attention and guidance they deserve.

Britt would do best in an active home, ideally with someone who is home more often or has the flexibility to include her in daily life. She would love a family that enjoys outdoor activities, ongoing training, and giving their dog both physical exercise and mental challenges.

If you’re looking for a loving, intelligent, and energetic companion who will thrive with your time and dedication, Britt could be the perfect match.

Britt is ready to find a home where she can be fully included, well-exercised, and deeply loved—could that be with you?
