Our sweet Callo found her home with us in January, 2021, at the age of 9, and we were lucky to have her as part of our family for almost 5 years.
All told, we (mostly Eric) logged thousands of miles with Callo in the neighborhood, on the shores of Lake Merritt, and on assorted trails throughout the East Bay and beyond. Born to run, she was never happier than when she was with Eric and sprinting up the hill near her house or along the shore in Alameda. She was a beauty, and a sweetheart, and made fast friends with everyone she met.
Callo had a lot of anxiety at first and we are very grateful for all the support we received from Nor Cal GSP Rescue while we were Callo’s “foster” parents and were navigating those first few months with her. Over time she learned to relax, at least a little (after all, she was a GSP), and lean into the love and attention of her people.
She departed us on December 18, 2025, spending her last night asleep beside her best person, Eric.
