Casper’s adoption story highlights a remarkable series of recoveries and steady progress through early medical setbacks. Soon after entering rescue, he was diagnosed with the tick-borne illness Anaplasma and returned to good health with timely treatment and follow-up care. Later, he faced bilateral shoulder OCD and underwent surgery on both joints, followed by a careful period of restricted activity and rehab. Even during recovery, Casper remained affectionate and engaged, forming a strong bond with his foster, Dan. With each milestone, his playful nature and eagerness to connect became more evident as he regained strength.
