Doppler

Doppler was literally rescued from a trash bin at 6 weeks of age and whisked to safety. A tiny pup, he sure looked like a GSP. Imagine our surprise when his DNA test came back, and nope, no GSP. He is mainly Chihuahua and Pug, with a bunch of other breeds tossed in, and he’s 100% cute!

Now he is ready to find his forever home. Doppler would make a great choice if you’re looking for a smaller version of a GSP – pint-sized and mellower (keeping in mind he is a puppy and has puppy energy). He is unlikely to grow larger than 20 – 25 pounds.

At just 3 months old and around 10 pounds, Doppler is already showing everyone what an incredibly smart, sweet, and adaptable little guy he is. Doppler loves absolutely everyone he meets. Whether you’re a familiar friend or someone brand new, he greets people with a wagging tail, happy excitement, and a strong desire to snuggle. If you sit down, chances are Doppler will find his way into your lap within seconds. He’s playful and curious, but he also has a calm, gentle nature that makes him especially easy to love.

This little guy is doing wonderfully with house training for such a young puppy. He already understands that “go potty” means business, and he’s learning to communicate when he needs to go outside. Doppler is a smart learner who thrives with routine and positive guidance.

Crate training is also off to a fantastic start. Doppler uses his crate for naps, meals, and downtime. He settles quickly and only speaks up when he truly needs a potty break.

One of Doppler’s favorite things in the world is hanging out with the dogs in his foster home. Watching him carefully read other dogs’ body language is honestly impressive. He politely introduces himself, adapts to each dog’s personality, and knows when to play and when to be respectful and calm. At night, he happily settles down and sleeps quietly once the lights go out.

Doppler is also starting to learn basic training cues like “come,” “sit,” “wait,” and is working on not barking. He enjoys little learning games and already follows his foster everywhere, eager to be involved in whatever is happening.

As with any puppy, Doppler is teething and enjoys chewing on toys — especially his beloved hairy plush bear. He’s great with children when supervised.

Despite being so young, Doppler rides beautifully in the car, has no real separation issues, and adjusts easily to new situations. His foster describes him as a “blank slate” who could thrive in many different kinds of loving homes. Whether you’re an active family, a couple, or someone looking for the ultimate snuggle companion, Doppler is ready to fit right in.

If you’re looking for a puppy who is affectionate, intelligent, social, playful, and wonderfully sweet, Doppler may just be your perfect match. He’s the kind of puppy who makes every day brighter simply by being nearby.
