Elliot

Meet Elliot, an adventurous and playful pup looking for an active home where he can learn, play, and grow!

Personality and Temperament

Elliot is bold, curious, and full of personality. He’s always alert to what’s happening around him—especially if there’s a squirrel or bird nearby. He enjoys being near his people, has learned to relax during downtime and loves being wrapped in a blanket while you’re reading or watching TV. Elliot loves praise, is very food-motivated, and responds well to consistent training. Elliot is crate-trained and settles well when left alone. Car rides are his favorite – he enjoys sticking his nose out the window!

Exercise and Activity Requirements

Elliot is an energetic, athletic dog who thrives on daily activity. He enjoys a 2-mile walk each morning, plenty of yard play, and short bursts of high-energy fun like wrestling and chasing the flirt pole. He also loves using his nose for scent games and tracking. Elliot does best with both physical and mental enrichment and would make a great companion for an active person or family who enjoys outdoor adventures.

Other Dogs and Animals

Elliot has made excellent progress with his social skills around other dogs. He’s generally neutral after the initial excitement and settles quickly. Elliot would enjoy a home with other dogs and would also be fine as a solo dog. Due to his high prey drive, a home without cats, small dogs, or pocket pets would be best.

Training

Elliot has been working on his basic cues like sit and down and even picked up a few tricks such as spin. He recently tried bikejoring and did great—showing how much he enjoys having a job and staying active. He’s enthusiastic about his walks and is learning to pull less.

The Ideal Home for Elliot

Elliot would do best with an active adopter who enjoys keeping their dog physically and mentally engaged. He’d be a great fit for someone experienced with energetic breeds and committed to positive training. He’ll benefit from an adopter who can help him learn moderate his enthusiasm in exciting settings. A home without small animals is best.
