Toby is a 3-year-old neutered male German Shorthaired Pointer/Black Lab mix who’s full of heart, energy, and potential. At 50 lbs, he’s athletic, smart, and eager for a life with structure, exercise, and purpose—ideally with someone experienced in handling high-energy working breeds.
Why Toby Needs a New Home
Toby’s family circumstances have changed significantly—his primary person had to relocate, and his current caretaker is juggling full-time work, elder care, and two other dogs. Despite deep love for Toby, the time and space he needs just aren’t available. He’s spending too many hours alone, and it’s taking a toll. It’s time for Toby to find a home where he can truly thrive.
What Toby Needs
Toby would do best in an active home—preferably with land, a ranch, or a large, securely fenced property. He needs an experienced, confident handler to help him continue his training, especially with leash reactivity. He’s a great candidate for someone who enjoys working with dogs and can provide mental stimulation, daily exercise, and clear boundaries.

The Fine Print
Toby has a few quirks. He can be reactive on leash and is still building confidence after a rough dog park incident. He can be an escape artist—he jumps, digs, and chews when anxious or under-stimulated. He’s good with the small female dog in the home but can be pushy with the male lab, especially around food. He’s never been around kids or cats, so those situations would need careful introductions.
With exercise, attention, and a job to do, Toby will be your best friend for life. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal companion and have the time and environment to bring out his best, Toby might be your perfect match. ❤️
