Elmer

Elmer showed up at the Modesto shelter as a stray, with a cough and an ugly neck wound. Though seven years old, he seemed to have had very little training. It was clear he hadn’t been on a leash or in a car or in a house before, so his foster home had its challenges. Despite everything being new to him, Elmer got along with the resident dogs and did not bother the cats. He soon bonded with his foster mom and didn’t like to let her out of his sight. She understood his need for reassurance, and he began to feel safe and blossom with her loving attention. Elmer got a new name to start his new life. Now Louie, he has earned the affection of the entire household. Thanks to Sheri and family for fostering and adopting him and giving him a great start on the rest of his life!
