Mack (Mack2) – passed away July 3, 2026

I’m writing with a heavy heart to share that our family recently had to say goodbye to our much-loved and bestest buddy, Mack. We adopted him back in June 2025, and for the short time he was with us, he was an absolutely delightful and beloved member of our family. We are devastated, and I wanted to share his medical story.

In February 2026, Mack started experiencing severe cluster seizures, and he was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. Our amazing vet and the ER staff helped us get him on an evolving meds cocktail to help manage his condition, but sadly, over the following months, his seizures increased in frequency, severity and duration, and eventually, after multiple trips to the ER, Mack crossed the rainbow bridge.

This was an agonizing process for Mack and our family, and we’re incredibly broken-hearted and miss his big presence so much. He was a perfect mate to our teens; he loved playing catch with his favorite balls ALL DAY LONG, chasing birds and squirrels at the beach and in the park, car rides to Oregon to see our daughter in college, long walks and runs, and swimming in the pool (a lot!). He was an amazing cuddler; all he wanted to do was be with his people, under a blanket and with his ball, and you couldn’t ask for a better GSP.

I wanted to share some pictures of him in his happy place. Thank you for letting us meet Mack, adopt him, and take care of him for the short time we had. He was such a good boy, and he is so, so deeply missed. 😢
