One-year-old Mario was found as a stray with another GSP who appeared to be his littermate. Both were skinny and shy. We placed them with one of our seasoned foster homes, where they were pampered and put on weight. Mario soon emerged as confident and playful. He mastered housetraining quickly and practiced his squirrel hunting skills. Mario has separation anxiety but found a home with stay-at-home people who have the patience and time to work with him on this issue. Meanwhile, he’s enjoying plenty of hikes, treats, and belly rubs.
