Merlin’s journey began as a stray in Bakersfield, where this 11-year-old boy arrived in poor condition and in need of some TLC. Once he was settled into foster care with Cathy, it didn’t take long for his big personality to emerge. Merlin turned out to be a friendly goofball who loves exploring the yard, carrying a stuffed toy on walks, sniffing out new adventures, and hanging out with his canine friends. Although he has a heart condition that requires daily medication and he is deaf, Merlin takes it all in stride and remains energetic, curious, and eager to enjoy life. With loving care, he became fully house-trained and showed everyone that being a senior certainly doesn’t mean slowing down—he’s still got plenty of pep in his step! We’re incredibly grateful to Cathy for giving Merlin the care and confidence he needed, and to Laura for opening her heart and giving this sweet, velvety-soft guy the forever home he deserves..
