Volunteer Opportunities

Please select the opportunities you are interested in.

TRANSPORT/DRIVER: Assist with freedom rides, vet appts, or other rides needed for a foster dog. Fill out additional info in transport section below.

FOSTER CASE MANAGER: Work directly with foster dogs and foster homes to help them through the foster program from rescue to adoption.

CASE MANAGER SUPPORT: Support our case management team with a variety of critical tasks such as: getting vet records; updating dog files; scheduling vaccines, procedures, & services; following up on other needs. This role requires less time than a case manager so it’s the perfect role for someone who has more limited time to give, but who still wants to support our foster dogs!

DOG WALKERS or MID-DAY CHECK-INS: Do you like to walk, but don’t have a dog? Volunteer for this position - we need people to walk a foster dog or let a dog out during the day while a foster family is out.

SHELTER VISITS/ID GSPs: From time to time, we may need a volunteer to visit a shelter (when requested) to verify GSP breed, take photos, and get more information about that dog!

ADOPTION PHONE INTERVIEWER: Play matchmaker and speak with potential adopters using preset questions.

EVENTS: Volunteer for events like adoption events, fundraising events, or Rescue reunions and lend a hand to help the dogs.

FUNDRAISING: If raising money for the dogs is your jam and you’ve got skills to share, let’s talk!

MARKETING/OUTREACH: Spread the word, raise awareness and put your planning skills to use. You enjoy combining all the elements of marketing (images, words, media channels) to reach goals like fundraising, adoptions and more.

VISUAL VOLUNTEER: Have you got a visual eye? Help with the post-photo process: photo/video editing, organizing, tagging, uploading, and design.

GRAPHIC DESIGN: Do you have graphic design expertise and experience? Tell us more! We’ll ask you for work samples or a link to your portfolio.

WORDPRESS POSTS: Experienced with WordPress? Help us keep our dog web postings up to date!

CLERICAL/DATA MANAGEMENT: So much data! Use your proficient computer skills to help enter and organize data.

WRITING: Got good grammar? Have a friendly writing style? Help us write dog success stories, dog adoption postings, and more!

I have filled out this form in order to apply as a volunteer with NorCal German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue (NCGSPR).
The information provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge and can be used by NGSPR and its personnel, including other volunteers, with respect to this application and any work I do as a volunteer.
If accepted as a volunteer, I will update NCGSPR with any changes in any of the information provided above.
I give permission to NCGSPR to call and confirm any references that I have provided.
I have never been accused of and/or found guilty of any cruelty related to animals.
I understand that I may be given access to confidential, private, and/or proprietary information regarding NCGSPR, its dogs and personnel, as well as private information about individuals who foster or adopt dogs from NCGSPR. I agree that I will not share any such information received from NCGSPR that is not otherwise public with anyone other than NCGSPR personnel and other volunteers to the extent necessary to carry out my volunteer activities.
I understand that information received from participation in NorCal GSP Rescue affairs, whether expressly denominated as confidential or not, is not to be used for personal gain or to the detriment of NorCal GSP Rescue.
I agree that, as a condition of my acceptance into the NCGSPR volunteer program, that I will not, at any time during or after my time as a volunteer, take any action which is intended to, or would reasonably be expected to, harm NCGSPR or its reputation, or the reputation of its board of directors, its officers, members, and agents, or which would reasonably be expected to lead to unfavorable publicity to NCGSPR or its officers and personnel.
I understand that as a volunteer for NCGSPR, I may be asked to do a number of tasks and interact with other volunteers, with NCGSPR dogs, and with members of the public. I agree to defend, hold harmless and indemnify NCGSPR, its board of directors, its officers, members, and agents, for any and all claims made against any of them, of any sort, by anyone, for any liability, damages, attorneys’ fees, or other injuries, which relate to facts that occur on or after the date of this agreement, and which are in any way related to my actions as a volunteer for NCGSPR.
I grant permission to NCGSPR and its agents, employees or assigns, the irrevocable right to use any audio or video materials taken of and/or provided by me related to GSPs, for use as NCGSPR sees fit. I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished materials or printed or electronic matter that may be used in conjunction with them now or in the future, whether that use is known to me or unknown, and waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the materials.
I will be responsible for any legal fees or other costs which NCGSPR must expend to enforce my compliance with any agreement with NCGSPR or as a result of my provision of false information on this form. This Agreement is governed by the laws of California, and in the event that a suit is brought by any party or parties to this Contract, the parties agree that such suit can only be brought in the State of California, San Mateo County.
I understand that any dog can cause injury up to and including death, and that I will indemnify and hold harmless NCGSPR, its agents, employees, officers, directors and volunteers, with respect to any injury, financial, physical, or emotional, that occurs to me as a result of my participation as a volunteer for NCGSPR. Additionally, I will defend, indemnify and hold harmless NCGSPR, its agents, employees, officers, directors and volunteers, with respect to any claims of any kind, brought by anyone, for any injuries or damages caused to anyone or any animal, that are caused by my negligent or intentional acts while a volunteer for NCGSPR.
