Misty, 6 years old, and part of our family for a short four months, succumbed to cancer in early August.
She came into our lives after charming NorCal GSP Rescue volunteers Heidi and Kelsey with her sweet, loving, friendly and calm personality. When we learned of her we immediately knew she was the GSP for us, an active retired couple looking for a dog of their favorite breed who could chill a bit ;)
And we hit the jackpot. She loved nothing more than sitting next to, or even better, on top of us, moving only when we did. She never once dug in the yard, barked or ran zoomies around and over everything in sight. She was a favorite immediately with neighborhood kids and friends. She wanted just one walk a day and used every second of it to get her hunt on, nothing that moved escaped her.
We’re heartbroken not to have her to grow older with, but forever grateful for being able to provide a home filled with love, comfort and attention to such a precious dog in her final days.
