Baron

Baron is an 8-year-old male GSP. He was the only black GSP in the litter and he is a beauty! Baron has lived on a 3-acre property for the past 8 years. He enjoys being on the outside deck and either sleeps in his Igloo outside during the warmer months or, during colder temperatures he is in a crate in the house. Baron is used to being an outside dog with room to run so he will need some guidance to have free rein of a house indoors. He loves his crate and travels extremely well in a crate in a vehicle.

Baron was introduced to other dogs early in his life at the dog park and is well-socialized. After the initial meet and greet(sniff) he’s off playing fetch. He is ambivalent toward other dogs and has never initiated a fight. Baron is very quick and agile he can outrun and outmaneuver most dogs. He loves playing fetch, loves the water, and enjoys swimming. Baron has never shown aggression toward people, greets them warmly, and loves the affection. He enjoys going on hikes and, like most GSPs, needs plenty of exercise.

Baron knows a few commands: sit, down, load up (jumps up into the crate in a vehicle), Hup (climb up on a boulder or log or?).

Baron has not been trained for hunting but he does point when he smells/hears a gopher/mole below ground. Baron may dig in the dirt to go after moles/gophers. He’s lived in the foothills and gives out a different bark and attitude toward mountain lions, foxes, and coyotes.

Baron is wonderful with children, including toddlers but care should be taken due to his size. He is patient and loving even to the young ones who may pull or pet too hard.
