Delia – passed away March 28, 2018

Delia was our much-loved companion for fourteen years. She ran like the wind and brought us constant amusement and joy. In typical GSP fashion, she had her quirks. She hated walking on grass and would only go on the edge of the lawn; yet never met a cow pie she wouldn’t roll in. And why bother to point when you can climb the tree after that turkey? Even though it seemed as if she lost her hearing as soon as that leash was unclipped and she ran ahead, she always circled back around to meet us. She’s running ahead of […]

Skippyjon (now Woodstock)

Skippyjon (now Woodstock) is adopted! Skippy showed up as a stray at a very full shelter, a terrified one-year old with ringworm. His foster family took care of the treatments he needed and realized right away what a lovebug he is. He was sweet and affectionate, and proved to be a great hiking companion. Is it any wonder they fell in love and decided to make him a permanent member of the household? Woodstock will get all the hiking and cuddling he can handle from his new family, which includes two teenaged boys to play with. Thank you, Anna and […]

Kasper

Kasper was surrendered by his owners because he kept breaking out of his crate and escaping from the yard. He is a big, handsome, goofy guy who apparently felt he was not getting enough activity time. And he is strong—he even scaled a 10’ high wall in a doggie hotel! His foster family found him a bit standoffish at first, but he soon learned the ropes of living indoors with other people and dogs–and the occasional baby goat! (Thanks Catherine and Mac for fostering). When his first adoption attempt did not work out, he landed ‘temporarily’ at the home of […]

Walter

Sweet powder-faced Walter found his forever home in record time! His new owners are previous adopters who adopted alum Mikey (aka Dyson) in 2014. They loved Mikey and treated him like a king, saw him through all his treatments for seizures, and were right by his side when he required surgery. They were heartbroken when Mikey died at the end of last year. One look at Walter’s photo on our website, and they knew they had found their next wonderful GSP to love. Walter is now set for lots of walks on the ocean, car rides, cuddles, and all the […]

Legend (now Tinker)

Legend (now Tinker) is adopted! Legend decided to leave home when she was about six years old. She showed up at a shelter as a stray, a mere 38-pound wisp of a GSP. Her foster homes (thank you Jan & Barbara) found her to be a perfect Pocket Pointer—a bundle of energy who liked every single dog and person she met. She’d fall asleep with her head in your lap after the excitement subsided, but she could also surprise you by appearing magically in your bed, or on top of a coffee table to get a better view of her […]

Hope – passed away March 9, 2018

I am sad to say that our sweet Hope passed away on March 9th, 2018. She was eighteen years old. She was such a goofball. Loved riding in the car, in fact, she would jump in anyone’s car if they left the door open. She loved to run and enjoyed her walks and of course her food. But most of all she loved her people. The last couple of years she slowed down, yet every once in a while she would take off down the street with us giving chase. Then she would lay on the couch to rest. She […]
