We don’t know how Sebastian ended up in a shelter. For a five-year old GSP, he is pretty mellow. He doesn’t even pull on his leash. He gets along with everyone, and likes to carry around his favorite stuffed bunny, even when out for a walk. No wonder his foster mom (thank you Whitney!) fell in love with this sweet guy and adopted him. Sebastian plans to go to work with his new mom and enjoy lots of walks with her every day.
Maxx (now River) spent his first four years chained up in a back yard, before a neighbor decided to intervene and get this sweet dog into a rescue program. Maxx savored the love and attention he received in his foster home (thank you, Imee and Albert). He is going to his forever home with a mom who lives in a cottage with a fenced yard. She is an avid hiker, so Maxx will get a lot of activity, as well as her devoted attention. She has changed his name to River, explaining: “When I first read about Maxx being chained […]
Whitney is a very good girl, a princess, really. She is a flirty love-bug who enjoys cuddling and stalking birds, but also loves her crate. She’ll crawl right in when she’s had enough excitement for a while, or when a new experience looks a bit scary to her. She keeps her kennel neat and tidy–although she might hide a few stolen treasures under the blankets inside it (or bury them in the back yard). Whitney has been adopted by a family in San Francisco that formerly adopted our alum Sadie. Whitney will get lots of walks and lots of loving, […]
Denali is a teddy bear…a very active one. He loves everyone he meets, canine and human. He is smart and wants lots of attention and love. He’s been adopted by a family that is willing to focus his energy and help him grow up to become the goofy, energetic, cuddly GSP he is meant to be. Denali is moving to a farm where he’ll have lots of human companionship, room to roam, and two NorCal GSP alumni sisters to show him the ropes.
Matterhorn is adopted! Little Matti is always on the go, seems to have no OFF button. There’s a whole planet out there to be sniffed and bones to be chewed! Matti’s forever family are prior adopters with two active adults, three kids and a Weimaraner brother who can’t wait to give her all the stimulation, attention, love and training she needs. Thank you, Claire and Art, for fostering Matti, and all your care for the rambunctious Mountain Litter.
Loa loves to sniff and explore all planted things. Then, after she’s stripped their leaves or dug them up, she’ll turn her sweet eyes on you and want to get all cuddly. She’s also fond of jumping in and out of cardboard boxes and watching TV while enjoying her chew toys. Loa has been adopted by a family with a big secure yard, lots of nearby trails, and GSP experience. Mom is a runner, and the two kids love to walk and play with dogs—even dog-sitting for neighbors. Loa will get lots of attention every day and will get to […]
Of all the Mountain Litter puppies, Everest had the highest mountain to climb and he needed the most help from us. He kept us worrying and praying and doing everything we could for him, including round the clock intensive vet care for many days. We thought we might lose him, but he never gave up. One day he turned a corner, started wriggling and vocalizing, as if to say “I’m back!” Soon he rediscovered the appetite he had lost. He grew stronger and bolder each day, coming out of his shell and melting hearts with his big, sweet eyes. His […]
Etna (now Emma) takes the prize for being the most people-oriented of the Mountain Litter pups. She is a real love bug, always checking in with her humans to see if she can get some cuddling or earn some treats. Etna has been adopted by a retired couple with GSP experience, a huge yard, and lots of time to train and spoil her. And she’ll have a GSP big brother, former alum Henri. Thank you, Anne, for fostering Etna.
McKinley can be playful, sweet and cuddly—a total lovebug, really, when she’s not distracted by BIRDS! She loves to watch birds, stalk them, and freeze into a perfect point for them. On her time off, she likes to watch TV with chew toys, or practice stalking and pouncing on her litter mates. McKinley has found her forever home with former adopters of our alum Princess, renamed Libby, who passed away just a few months ago at a ripe old age. With their beloved GSP gone (and a daughter just moved away to college), these folks are ready to devote lots […]
Nonstop Kuna is rambunctious, fearless, and very smart. She has a sharp nose for buried treasures, and she masters new skills quickly. She likes to cuddle with humans and to romp with other dogs, but more than anything, she likes having a job to do. Lucky Kuna is going to a GSP-savvy forever home with a dad who is semi-retired and a mom who is a fire fighter and might teach Kuna some search and rescue skills to practice. They have time and attention to devote to raising a young pup—and teaching her how to get along with the four […]
It has been a really sad time for us as we lost our sweet Ace on Tuesday. We had been treating Cushing’s disease and last year he had a malignant Melanocytic tumor removed from his mouth. Even with these issues, he persevered and beat the odds. When we adopted him at 14, we thought we would be lucky to have him a for year, but we were blessed as it turned out to be 3.5 wonderful and unforgettable years. 17.5 years old is really off the charts and probably a gold record holder. Thank you for allowing us to make […]
