Josie

Josie “JO” is a very sweet senior girl. She’s excellent on a leash – walks next to you and stops when you stop. She’s already able to stay at home by herself for up to 3 hours. She’s also a great yardwork supervisor!

Josie’s favorite things are:

  • Patrolling the yard.
  • Chasing squirrels. She’s almost caught a few.
  • Inspecting each hole for critters and there are many holes.
  • Cooling off in the creek.

Josie could use your help. She won’t be able to do her favorite things for a couple of weeks because she’ll be recuperating from a complicated multiple-mass removal surgery. Her expenses are expected to come to around $5,000. If you’re in a position to help, she’d love it. No amount is too small or too large. Thank you!

Update 8/13/24: Josie has recovered nicely from the extensive surgery to remove multiple masses in her mammary glands as well as spay. The conditions that developed from her not being spayed appear to be resolved and she’s doing much better. Unfortunately, due to a slow-growing tumor in her lung, her life expectancy is 6 months to 2 years. Watching her chase those squirrels, you wouldn’t know anything was wrong with her!
