Bella (rescue name Bella2) – passed away June 17, 2017

It is with deep regret that I must let everyone know that Bella passed away in my arms on June 20, 2017, at the veterinarian’s office of cancer. Bella was a great friend and I miss her a lot! She had battled cancer, had several operations to remove growths, but two days after the last operation we were told that she would need chemotherapy and that would only slow the spread. Our time together was way too short. The first time I had seen a picture of Bella up for adoption I just fell in love with those eyes. My […]

Gauge

Handsome Gauge came to us in need of a little extra TLC. He had two surgeries to remove four mast cell tumors, and both times he recovered like a champ. Lucky for him, his two foster moms (thanks Desirae, and later Micaela) are both vet students at UC Davis, so he was in very good hands. He’s had great test results lately, but will remain closely monitored in future. Meanwhile, this six year old just wants to play ball, and more ball, and some more ball after that. He is also a champion snuggler who adores his people and gets […]

Daisy – passed away June 9, 2017

We said goodbye to Daisy, our 13-year-old #GermanShortHairedPointer. We rescued her from @NorCalGSPRescue about 12 years ago as a companion to Hans, our other #GSP that we also rescued from the same. D-Dog, Crazy-Daisy, Looong-Beak, Houdini-Dog… She answered to many names over the years and was the best #FamilyDog anyone could ask for. Insanely athletic, able to escape from any crate, and always ready with a smile, nudge, and lick, she was the subject of many stories and fond memories. Daisy was infamous at every kennel in the tri-city area and my favorite story was the employees at #PetSmart Hotel […]

Sunny

Sweet Sunny came to us a bit scared and shy, but with some top-notch fostering (thanks so much Anne), she emerged from her shell and started to shine. She learned how to get along with a rambunctious young GSP brother, she charmed some humans who insisted on visiting with her weekly, and she even finished a 5k race with a young galpal! She started to enjoy more of the good things in life, including outings to dog parks and lots of quiet cuddle time. Now she has found a permanent, loving home with a couple who had their hearts set on […]

Dax

Dax! This goofy two year old wasn’t in our foster care for long. He is so cute, active, entertaining, cuddly and companionable that it didn’t take long to find a family eager to adopt him. Thanks Nicole and Taylor for fostering him (and Marley for putting up with rambunctious Dax sharing his home, toys and yard). Now Dax is trading his canine foster brother for a human brother in his new forever home. Adopted May 2017

Baylee

Baylee showed up as a stray, so we don’t know how she spent her first five years.  We do know that with a little help from her foster caregivers (thanks Carol and Sherry), she began to flourish. She changed from being a wary dog to a happy, loving, bouncy gal who likes cuddles, kisses, and car rides. Now she’s found her forever home, where there’s lots of love and plenty of acreage for zooming. Adopted May 2017
